Well, I survived. No big shock there! There were a couple of times yesterday when I had some serious cravings and I got a light detox headache in the evening (a lot like what I experienced on day 3 or 4 of my raw weeks last year). Overall it was not a big deal. I haven’t done the math, but I think I consumed a normal amount of calories; it was a gallon of juice and I had a ton of great energy all day and night. Other than that, I lost a pound or two and my nose/sinuses feel clearer. I can just imagine the kind of healing that would take place over the span of a full week… or a month… or the full 92 days!
It’s noon the next day, now, and I’m kind of wondering what to do next. ”Eat, fool” comes to mind. But for some reason I’m just not that hungry. I’ve had a bunch of water already and a couple cups of reishi/cistanche tea on my way to work. I just drank a Naked “mighty mango” juice, which is actually pretty filling. (300 calories worth of filling… damn!)
I brought a big salad with me for lunch, so that’s where I’m headed next. Part of me really wants to go home and juice the hell out of another wheelbarrow load of produce. The less impulsive part of me is saying: take it easy. There’s plenty of time to do this again. Maybe do a couple days or a week next time. There’s no rush, and by the way, in the span of 48 hours I’ve gone from craving bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches to seriously considering a more regular vegan lifestyle. That’s powerful juice!
