Yesterday I started an experiment.
The juice I made with the semi-dry stuff from the fridge made me wonder: how much would that have been if it were fresh? Better yet, how much juice could I make with a typical day’s food budget? So I went to Whole Foods and purchased what ended up being $18 worth of organics: a couple types of kale, some celery, carrots, and romaine.
I didn’t leave myself enough time to juice it last night and we’re talking about non-local organics here (no, I don’t live in California), so there’s at least a few days of drying effect already, but it’s a pretty informal experiment. It’s still much more plump/moist/green than the old stuff.
So, we’ll see what happens tonight…
